Destined for greatness or quite possibly to be the best there has ever been?
In reality the contagious smiles say it all, Omero Benvolio Whiteleg Amor Tarquini Esq. centre, Valerio Turchi right & Francesca Schaal de Geispolsheim left before a 2018 BCI orientated self-portrait of the artist juxtaposed by an almost 2 millennia old portrait of a past Emperor of Rome.
The sculpture holds it’s own amongst ancient imperial masterpieces standless dare I even say crutchless solidly on its base, no doubt even Marcus Aurelius would have been a fan, might he even had a similar expression of severity adorning his face, and given the subject matter one would be forgiven for thinking so.
Yet beyond brushing a sense of humour on this, and playing with a few words from Bill Clinton’s favourite book Meditations. Although Hans Berger, a German physiologist, recorded the first human electroencephalogram (EEG) in 1924, Jaques Vidal’s laboratory experimented successfully using EEG to control a cursor on a screen (considered the first recorded successful use of BCI) in 1977. In 2023, the Chilean Supreme Court issued a unanimous decision ordering Emotiv, a U.S. producer of a commercial brain scanning tool, to erase the data it had collected on a former Chilean senator, Guido Girardi having already amended its Constitution to protect “mental integrity” and neurodata in 2021. And the fact more recently, Elon Musk only announced that his company Neuralink had successfully implanted a brain-computer interface (BCI) device, dubbed “Telepathy,” in a human, with the patient recovering well and showing promising results on January 29, 2024.
In this mind-blowingly pioneering contemporary and evermore modern world we aren’t merely fortunate enough to inhabit but are “physically” a part of, the non elected earthly as well as outer space oriented business magnet certainly is not alone and there are already even multiple non invasive BCI’s on the open market you can control video games with much like a hyper augmented version of Vidal’s 1977 laboratory experiments.
But who would have seen all that coming way back in 2018, or at the very least. Thought BCI’s important enough to immortalise, well according to the exhibit’s curator Francesca Schaal de Geispolsheim “one of Europe’s (& Britain’s) best sculptors”: an artist who hasn’t simply had success for many years but used it somewhat wisely-investing in prestigious tutelages in the fields of Biomechanics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Geometry, Chemistry, Media, The Arts and above all with fervent passion Architecture – both human and the metaphysically materialised. And just to cite a few, the world renowned artist Tomasso Cascella (whom has enjoyed exhibitions from Europe to China), the late treasured Antonio Nole in Media and in Architecture dear, loved and cherished Yale University Landscape Architect Professor Bryan Fuermann.

(The astonishingly nerd-like Brit with a physique any 00 would work for, seen intensely studying a pair of Paulina Borghese copies – with fingers coincidentally or evidently positioned in a Vesica Pisces of the V&A’s mesmerising mosaic floor as he grasps a book by Sun Tzu during Coronavirus’ Covid-19 – Image Credit Omero Tarquini Instagram)
Although now believed to be experiencing a bumpy moment. What does a hands on man armed with the above intellectual might, whom just happens to be engaged to one of Europe’s prettiest and down to earth Princesses (see article), do after achieving such internationally celebrated feats and accomplishments however?

Well the above is a leaked Christmas card he sent to among others King Charles II

and the below is what he was assembling while he captured the moment depicted on the Christmas card, backpacking around Britain further acquainting himself to the natural and unnatural beauty of the place as he was preparing to make fine art, perhaps I should even say meditatively oriented heavenly art from that what should never have been discarded on this blessed earth:
The above, one of the few privately owned off market detritus works immortalised via photography. Currently reserved for the artists personal mediation and already thought to be willed to the V&A by Tiggy Butler; love of the late Ryanair founder Tony Ryan and top Interior Designer to royalty, the stars and beyond known for interiors like this Knightsbridge Townhouse:

But now for what he’s really been up to, the finale, unveiled only this November and in a manner even the meticulous Jensen Yang would have been proud of and no doubt— mentally constructed amongst, in between—before and after his 21st century pilgrimages and their aftereffects.

yet constructed masterpiece seen earlier this month in the form of nothing less than it’s digital twin in a private viewing I was fortunate enough to attend, in anticipation for his upcoming 2028 exhibition Space 4 Thought. And already rumoured to be destined, thanks to an untold fortune, to the Spanish royal collection, named after the iconic Versailles chanting pop song by Iggy Pop, a celebration of public achievements —and for those of you who are ship connoisseurs. Yes, in what critics are already saying echoes both Tuner & Rothko in true 21st century fashion, that is the HMS Prince of Wales in the background. It looks good to me, how does it look to you

And considering it was plato that said art is the lie that tells the truth yet in this case. Albeit not in their non platonic forms we really do have greatness of pubic materialisation before us worthy of a rock song and considering that once upon a time it was the renowned Eduard The Black Prince who immortalised the age old moto of Ich Dien “I serve” it might well be an appropriate title for the artist. Given the service of showing us what we’re fortunate enough to have in such a proudly multifaceted modality. One thing is for sure however, this man might not just be the very best, but quite simply at the very beginning of his already evidently timeless & completely unsurpassed career—-so let’s sit back
